India has long faced the challenge of providing safe drinking water to over 700 million people in more than 1.5 million villages. hundreds of millions of people across the country still live in poverty, malnutrition, unhygienic living conditions, and without access to clean drinking water.
Access to clean water is essential to development around the world and India is certainly no exception. In fact, the effects of water scarcity are growing more desperate in India faster than they are in many countries.
According to Wikipedia, water pollution is a major environmental issue in India. The largest source of water pollution in India is from untreated sewage. Other sources of pollution include agricultural runoff and unregulated small-scale industry. Most rivers, lakes, and surface water in India are polluted.
In India, contaminated drinking water, polluted river water, and unsafe well water remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality in rural areas with 1.8 million deaths per year being attributed to water-borne diseases. The victims are rural women and children living in villages and hamlets due to seasonal diseases caused by contaminated drinking water.
Carmel ministries with the help of LCA Love and Compassion in the UK were able to do 6 bore well along with 1 Motorised Bore well.
We are doing these divine bore well close to our churches in that community to be more responsible for maintenance and to bless the community.
AT PRESENT WE ARE DOING THIS BORE WELL IN ANDHRA AND TELENGANA STATES WE WOULD LIKE TO BLESS THE PEOPLE OF ORISSA AND ALSO CHATTISGARH STATES, AND WE WOULD LIKE TO PARTNER WITH INTERESTED AGENCIES TO HELP US TO BLSS THE RURAL INDIA WITH CLAEAN AND DRINKING WATER.
